La 64ª edición de los premios Grammy se pospuso se llevaría a cabo originalmente el 31 de enero, pero se pospuso "en medio de crecientes preocupaciones por la variante Ómicron" hasta el 3 de abril.

Los Grammy son para la música lo que la Met Gala es para la moda, atrayendo a estrellas de primer nivel y dando lugar a momentos históricos desde su creación en 1959, desde el vestido de Versace inspirado en Google Images de JLo, hasta Lady Gaga cantando "Shallow". Sin embargo, en los últimos años, la ceremonia ha sido objeto de una reacción cada vez mayor, sin mencionar una fuerte reducción en la audiencia, con todos, desde The Weeknd hasta Alicia Keys, criticando su proceso de selección. El comediante Trevor Noah —a cargo del programa "The Daily Show"— será el anfitrión de la prestigiosa ceremonia que premia lo mejor de la música. En lugar de su sede habitual en el Crypto.com Arena (anteriormente conocido como Staples Center), por primera vez, los premios se trasladaron a Las Vegas y se llevarán a cabo en el MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Se espera que este año la premiación marque el regreso al glamour de la celebración tradicionalmente realizada en el Staples Center, en Los Ángeles, y que consagre a artistas como Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish y Olivia Rodrigo, así como al músico de jazz y rhythm and blues (R&B) Jon Batiste, que tiene once nominaciones.

"Estamos emocionados de llevar los premios Grammy a Las Vegas por primera vez y de poner un espectáculo de primera línea", dijo en un comunicado Harvey Mason Jr., director ejecutivo de la Academia de la Grabación.
